Tereza Prego, one of Portugal's best interior and furniture designers, has set her sights on London and is courting success much more quickly than she anticipated.

Harrods has bought her latest furniture collection for its Portugal Studio event in October this year and Tereza has just completed two interiors projects in London's smart Chelsea and Belgravia districts.

During the month of October, to coincide with Portugal taking over the Presidency of the EU, Harrods will showcase the diversity of the country with a taster of what visitors can expect to find there.

Harrods customers will be able to see the contrasts between traditional and modern Portugal, with the 'Portugal Studio' located on the 3rd floor. A gallery space will showcase traditional crafts as well as new design, with the opportunity to buy from a number of exhibitors, among them Tereza Prego whose products will also be in the Harrods windows from 24th September.

Five items from the stylish Tereza Prego collection will be on display. Inspired by her travels and love of contemporary design, Tereza's pieces are not only beautiful, but possess a unique flavour of their own: they are polished, fun and sophisticated.

This is furniture at home in a Manhattan loft, Lisbon palacio or a grand Georgian house in London. Best of all, each item can sit sympathetically in any existing interior and infuse it with a modern feel.

The collection at Harrods, Tereza says, "Represents a new trend for people who appreciate special and beautiful things that are easy to mix with their existing furniture. I also look for good design and craftsmanship, because no matter when it was created it will always last."
