Luxury Interiors and Furniture Brand Launches in the UK

Red Lacquer is delighted to be launching its furniture and interiors concept at Interiors Birmingham in January 2008. Based in London, Red Lacquer provides exquisitely designed contemporary furniture, lighting and accessories to the UK market. Red Lacquer also offers a complete interior design service. European quality and sophistication punctuated with a cosmopolitan edge are intrinsic to the Red Lacquer philosophy.

Seating, tables, desks, storage, lighting are all designed and manufactured in Portugal and Italy, ensuring a very high level of consistent quality. Bespoke orders are never a problem.

Joana de Noronha (32) is the force behind Red Lacquer and launched its London showroom in October 2007. Born and bred in Portugal, Joana now lives in London after honing her eye for style working in New York and Rio de Janeiro for companies as diverse as Chanel, the Copacabana Palace hotel and Diane von Furstenberg.

"I've noticed a gap in the market for elegant, contemporary furniture that is design-led without being overly design-conscious. There's definitely a trend away from flashy designer brands and towards a fresh yet sophisticated look".

With exclusive access to exciting European interior designers including the award-winning Tereza Prego, Red Lacquer provides clients with an all-encompassing interior design service. Tereza Prego is a highly respected designer of interiors and furniture with a portfolio of luxury hotels, private homes, cruise ships, corporate offices, restaurants and commercial environments. Her most recent projects include homes in London's Eaton Place and Egerton Gardens. Red Lacquer is delighted to be her exclusive agent and distributor in the UK.

Red Lacquer home accessories have an iconographic simplicity ranging from porcelain disc vases in a range of delicious metallics to oversized bowls in dramatic, contrasting colours and vases with a contemporary twist on the Grecian urn.

Joana personally sources decorative silver from Portugal's finest artistic silversmith studios. Established over a century ago the Manuel Alcino studio produces silver collected and coveted globally. Red Lacquer stocks a carefully selected collection including finely crafted animal figures.
