Lisbon-based Tereza Prego has built a highly respected reputation in interior design over the past 35 years and is now delighted to be launching her confident
"New York' furniture collection in the UK.
"With the New York collection I was aiming for a fresh and cosmopolitan feel. It's a range with a lot of statement pieces, reflecting my take on the bold style of the city,' she says.
The hero piece is undoubtedly the Tribeca dining chair with its laser cut floral motif. Available in either black or white, the glossy frame is accentuated by a suede cushion. The chair is decidedly sleek and modern, yet beautifully manages a civilized nod to a more decorative past.
The other seating in the collection is the stylish Soho stool. Tereza Prego has used banana leaf to create the textured seat, and innovatively has given it a highly lacquered coating creating a durable and modern finish, available in glossy white or black.
Huge statement Soho floor lamps, taller than the average person, boldly play with scale and form. Looking at them straight on, the lamps appear round and urn shaped, however upon closer inspection they are actually flat, and are topped with metallic, slightly transparent shades. The Soho lamp is available in black gloss, silver Leaf or white gloss, and is also available in a small and medium size.
A graphic take on the traditional coffee table, the Tribeca table offers up a large scale chequerboard feel and is available in either a zinc leaf/acrylic or polished steel/lacquered or wenge finished wood combination.
Tereza Prego's Tribeca desk is the business with its glass top balancing on steel-tipped black legs. This modern classic is all about sophisticated detailing.
